Open all year at all reasonable times; OPW prints no hours or closed dates and Westmeath County Council says seven days a week, 365 days a year. There are no staff, no visitor centre and no toilets, cafe or shop on site; the Fore Abbey coffee shop and a pub are in the village a few minutes' walk away.
OPW advises weatherproof clothing and shoes suitable for uneven terrain, and notes restricted access for visitors with disabilities: field paths, uneven walkways and a winding stair inside the priory.
