Rufford Old Hall

Rufford Old Hall is one of Lancashire's finest Tudor buildings, famous for its extravagant Great Hall with an intricately carved movable wooden screen. A young William Shakespeare is said to have performed here in the 1580s. The Victorian wing houses the Hesketh family's eclectic collections, and the gardens include a topiary avenue and seasonal herbaceous borders.
