The abbey is open 10am to 4pm all year, last admission 30 minutes before closing; closed 24, 25 and 26 December and 1 January. The visitor centre, gift shop and refreshments, run by the Strata Florida Trust, open daily 10am to 4pm from late March to 31 October and close from November to February; the Trust's free Mynachlog Fawr exhibition next door opens 11am to 3pm in the same season or by appointment. Free entry to the whole site is a trial under the Cadw and Trust partnership begun in 2025, with voluntary donations welcome. Cadw may close monuments at short notice in extreme weather.
Terrain level 2, easy: a relatively flat grassed site with several low walls, a small step down to the graves at the rear and a low wall to step over; most of the ruins can be seen from the path. The visitor centre is step-free with wheelchair and pushchair access. Picnic tables and benches, one with a wheelchair section. No toilets are listed. Drones are not permitted.
Dogs: Dogs on short leads are welcome on the ground level of the ruins, which is the whole monument; whether they may enter the visitor centre is not stated.
