Buckland Abbey

Buckland Abbey is a 700-year-old former Cistercian monastery that became the home of Sir Francis Drake in 1581. The abbey church was ingeniously converted into a house, and the property displays Drake memorabilia including his famous drum. Set in the Tavy Valley, the estate includes a medieval tithe barn, herb garden, and craft workshops.
