Cotehele is a remarkably complete medieval house on the steep wooded banks of the River Tamar. Built between 1485 and 1627 by the Edgcumbe family, its rooms are hung with tapestries and decorated with original armour and furniture. The estate includes terraced gardens, a restored quay with a sailing barge, and the valley garden at Cotehele Mill.
