Open all year during reasonable daylight hours; no admission charge. The building is closed inside, with the outer areas and the viewing platform over the waterfall open; a visitor notes that bats roost in the furnace. Cadw may close monuments at short notice in extreme weather.
Terrain level 2, easy: steps and paths with handrails lead up around the outside of the furnace to the viewing platform at the highest point, with deep water and drops alongside, so stay on the path. No toilets, cafe or shop; the nearest are at Tre'r-ddol. Drones are not permitted.
Dogs: Dogs on short leads are welcome on the outdoor paths around the furnace; the interior is closed to everyone.
