Great Yarmouth Row Houses preserves two early seventeenth-century homes from the town's distinctive network of narrow lanes. Row 111 House and the Old Merchant's House began as prosperous merchants' residences before subdivision into tenements changed their use. Their surviving interiors, together with fittings rescued from other demolished houses, reveal both the ambitions of wealthy traders and later domestic life. Look for decorative plasterwork, painted panels, wall-ties and door-knockers, with Dutch trading connections reflected in the town's building traditions. Reviewers repeatedly praise the guides' knowledge and the way a visit brings the rooms to life. Tours operate on selected days and begin at the Old Merchant's House, so check the current schedule before travelling. Ramped access is available at the side of Row 111, but steep stairs restrict access to upper floors. Public pay-and-display parking is separate from this free visit.
