1 April to 31 October daily 9.30am to 5pm; closed 1 November to 31 March, when the exterior is still seen from Bridge Street, Abbey Row and the graveyard railings. On 20 October 2026 Historic Scotland's page header said 'Closed today' while its table showed the abbey open, with no notice to explain it, so check the page before a visit. The abbey reopened in July 2026 after five years closed for unstable high-level masonry.
The ruin stands in its old graveyard on grass and gravel with information boards; no toilets, cafe or shop on site, with the town centre a short walk away.
