Broad Haven South is a wide sandy bay on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, part of the Stackpole Estate, a Grade I listed designed landscape and internationally important nature reserve. The beach lies at the foot of the Bosherston Lily Ponds, and cliffs, dunes and tiny coves alternate along the eight miles of coastline around it. The Trust describes it as a safe family bathing beach. Reviewers rave about the clear water and golden sand, and several combine the beach with the lily ponds, arriving on foot from Bosherston. Tips from visitors: the narrow lanes to the large car park get busy on summer weekends, and the steep steps and soft sandy slope down to the beach make a hard climb back with a lot to carry. There are toilets by the car park and an ice cream van in summer. Dogs are welcome on the beach all year round under close control.
NT's opening calendar lists Broad Haven South open dawn to dusk.
Steep steps, then an uneven steep sand path lead from the car park to the beach; the route is not accessible for wheelchairs, powered mobility vehicles or pushchairs.
Toilets by the car park, including adapted toilets with grab rails (Radar key). No lifeguard is listed on the NT page.
Part of the Stackpole Estate; Bosherston Lily Ponds reach the back of the beach.
