Cwmtydu to New Quay is a stretch of the Wales Coast Path in Ceredigion cared for by the National Trust, running from the sheltered cove of Cwmtydu to the fishing village of New Quay. The cliffs are rich in wildlife, from seals and wild ponies to wild flowers and birdlife, and walkers pass an Iron Age hill fort and the aptly named Seal Bay and Bird Rock, with views across the water to the Llŷn Peninsula. Reviewers love the small pebbly cove at Cwmtydu itself, where seals and their pups are often seen, and many make time for the little cafe near the beach. Tips from visitors: the lanes down to the cove are narrow, steep and winding, and the parking by the sea wall is small and fills quickly. Dogs are welcome on leads, with livestock and wildlife to keep in mind. Public toilets are at Cwmtydu and in New Quay, and the T5 bus serves New Quay.
The coastline is open dawn to dusk on NT's calendar.
Public toilets are at Cwmtydu and in New Quay (not National Trust).
The T5 bus between New Quay, Aberaeron, Cardigan and Aberystwyth stops at Mason's Square, New Quay. By road, follow the A487 to Llanarth, then the B4342 to New Quay.
