Wall walks: 1 April to 31 October 10am to 5pm, closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays; 1 November to 31 March 10am to 4pm, closed Monday to Thursday; closed 24, 25 and 26 December and 1 January; last admission to the wall walks 3pm. The key is available from Denbigh Castle during its opening hours, so that staff can check the walls first, for a returnable cash deposit; lock the gates behind you. No admission charge. The Burgess Gate and the walls seen from the streets are open at any time. Cadw may close monuments at short notice in extreme weather.
Terrain level 3, moderate: several steps leading to and along the walls, with some very steep sections of stairs between the Countess and Goblin towers, wet leaves and slippery surfaces under overhanging trees, and unprotected drops; use the handrails. Toilets at the castle visitor centre in castle hours. Drones are not permitted.
Dogs: Cadw: 'Dogs welcome' with no lead line; the walls are not on Cadw's dog-friendly list (Denbigh Castle is). The wall walk has very steep stairs.
