Hardcastle Crags is a deeply wooded Pennine valley near Hebden Bridge, a haven of tumbling streams, mossy boulders and ancient oak woodland. At the heart of the valley stands Gibson Mill, a former cotton mill now powered entirely by renewable energy and serving as an interactive exhibition about sustainable living. The crags themselves are outcrops of millstone grit scattered through the woodland, and the valley supports a rich variety of wildlife including dippers, kingfishers and rare moths.
