Open 10am to 4pm all year, last admission 30 minutes before closing; closed 24, 25 and 26 December and 1 January. No admission charge. Entry is through the door in the curtain wall, so expect it to be shut outside these hours. Cadw may close monuments at short notice in extreme weather.
Terrain level 2, easy: through the door into sloped lower grounds, then eight stone steps with no handrail into the castle, whose grounds are relatively flat and all on one level with low ruined walls to mind. No toilets, cafe or shop. Drones are not permitted.
Dogs: Dogs on short leads are welcome on the ground level of the castle, which is the whole enclosure.
