At Robin Hood's Bay the National Trust's base is the Old Coastguard Station on The Dock, a free visitor centre whose displays cover the coast's Jurassic geology, climate change, smuggling and the rangers' work. The Trust cares for stretches of cliff, meadow and shore between Saltburn and Filey along the Cleveland Way, including Ravenscar above the bay and the Cinder Track cycle route. At low tide the rocky shore here and at Boggle Hole, a 1.5-mile loop away, is good for rockpooling and for fossils, best found among the shingle after a storm. Reviewers single out the small interactive museum upstairs, reached by lift, and the sea views from its windows. Two things to know: the cafes at the Old Coastguard Station and Ravenscar closed in September 2026, with the Trust exploring future uses for the buildings, and there is no beach access at Ravenscar after cliff falls. Village parking is pay and display up a steep bank, not National Trust.
