A mixture of tarmac, grassy paths that may be muddy and rocky slopes; the rocks by the waterfalls can be slippery. Follows the River Gamlan to the two Rhaeadr Ddu falls, which drop over 60ft (18m), then returns through open oak woodland. No admission charge stated.

Circular from Barmouth train station, LL42 1LS, through the steep streets of Barmouth Old Town to the National Trust centennial memorial on Dinas Oleu, the Frenchman's Grave and Fanny Talbot's house Ty'n Ffynnon. Path steep and rough in places and may be slippery when wet, with a steep drop beside one narrow section. Parking in a large pay and display council car park on the sea front, not National Trust; frequent buses and trains to Barmouth. Free to walk.

Starts at Ganllwyd car park, grid reference SH727243, LL40 2TF, crossing the busy A470 and walking up the Dolmelynllyn Hall driveway to the restored lake; very easy, level, hard-surfaced ground suitable for wheelchair users, with limited accessible parking by the lake for disabled badge holders and toilets at the main car park. Viewing platforms extend over the lake. No admission charge stated.
