Calke Abbey is a baroque mansion known as 'the house that time forgot,' filled with collections amassed by the reclusive Harpur-Crewe family over centuries. The unstored rooms reveal peeling wallpaper, cluttered collections, and faded grandeur deliberately preserved by the National Trust. The surrounding 600-acre parkland is a National Nature Reserve with ancient trees and rare wildlife.
