Chedworth Roman Villa is one of the largest and best-preserved Romano-British villas in England, discovered by a gamekeeper in 1864. The remains include outstanding mosaic floors, two bath suites, a water shrine, and underfloor heating systems dating from the 2nd to 4th centuries AD. A modern conservation shelter protects the mosaics while allowing visitors to walk among the ancient rooms.
