Dunwich Heath is a rare and precious fragment of the lowland heath that once covered much of coastal Suffolk. In late summer the heathland bursts into colour with purple heather and yellow gorse. The clifftop walks offer panoramic views over the RSPB's Minsmere reserve and out to sea. The area is rich in wildlife including Dartford warblers, nightjars and adders, and the former coastguard cottages now house a tea room and shop.
