Marble Hill preserves an 18th-century riverside villa built for Henrietta Howard, with restored interiors that introduce her life and Georgian society beside the Thames. The house is relatively compact, but the visit extends into more than 60 acres of parkland, gardens and woodland. Families can follow activities with Fop the dog, try Georgian games and make use of the playground, while the former stable block houses the cafe. Reviewers repeatedly praise the knowledgeable volunteers, whose explanations help bring the rooms and their former owner to life. The Woodland Walk follows a sheltered path along the eastern edge of the park. House admission is free, and booking ahead guarantees entry; the house opens less often than the park. Dogs may use most of the park under supervision, with leads required in designated cafe areas and exclusion from the fenced children's area.
