Minster Lovell Hall's ruined walls stand beside the River Windrush, preserving parts of an ambitious 15th-century manor house. William, Baron of Lovell and Holand, built the house in the 1430s, and it later belonged to Francis, Viscount Lovell, an ally of Richard III. Abandonment and demolition in the 18th century left the hall, tower and other substantial remains that can be explored today. The nearby dovecote survives separately and can be viewed from outside. Reviewers appreciate the riverside setting and often include St Kenelm's Church in their visit. Dogs on leads are welcome at the ruins. Leave the car at the small church car park if space permits, then continue on foot: the narrow lane ending at the site has no parking or turning space. There are no toilets at the property.
