Can be viewed externally; no admission charge. Cadw: although the monument's outer fencing is currently permanently locked, you are still able to view the monument from outside the main entrance and upon the bridge, which offers an amazing view of the riverside profile. The castle grounds are prone to flooding at high tide. Cadw may close monuments at short notice in extreme weather.
Terrain level 2, easy: a narrow pavement leads to and from the castle beside a busy main road; the safe viewing point is the paved section serving the pedestrian underpass. No toilets or information panel. Drones are not permitted.
Dogs: Cadw: 'Dogs welcome. Dogs on short leads welcome to access ground floor levels of the site.' The visit is from public pavements and the bridge, since the enclosure is locked.
