Penrose

Penrose is a 1,600-acre estate surrounding Loe Pool, the largest natural freshwater lake in Cornwall, separated from the sea by the shingle bar of Loe Bar. The estate encompasses woodland, farmland and coastline, with paths circling the lake through ancient oak woods and past the ornamental grounds of Penrose House. Loe Pool is steeped in Arthurian legend as the lake into which Sir Bedivere cast Excalibur.
