Rotherwas Chapel records centuries of changing taste and religious life in the household of the Bodenham family. The medieval chapel was rebuilt in Elizabethan times, acquired its present tower in the eighteenth century, and received richly detailed Victorian furnishings associated with the Pugins. The timber roof and decorated interior make it more than a view of an isolated village church. Reviewers particularly recommend collecting the key, as the interior reveals much that the exterior alone cannot explain. English Heritage directs visitors to Herefordshire Archive and Records Centre for both key collection and parking, with a roughly half-mile walk along the Hereford Greenway to the chapel. The approach lane is private, so arrive on foot or by bicycle and keep it clear for its users. There is no permitted onward access to the river beyond the chapel. Visitors needing accessible parking should contact the archive centre before travelling.
Exterior is open any reasonable time. For the interior, collect the key from Herefordshire Archive and Records Centre. The key is available 10am-4pm Tuesday to Friday and every second Saturday.
