Avebury is the largest stone circle in Europe, enclosing the village of Avebury within its massive Neolithic bank and ditch. Built around 2850 BC, the monument is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site that includes the West Kennet Avenue, Silbury Hill and the West Kennet Long Barrow. The Alexander Keiller Museum on site tells the story of the circle's rediscovery.
