Cadw lists no designated parking and pedestrian access only. Visitors use the small lay-by on the A4080 at the site entrance, about 2 km west of Brynsiencyn, and ask that the road down to the working farm is not blocked; vehicles are not allowed beyond the lay-by. Nothing is published about the lay-by, so the status is recorded as none. From it walk about 400 m north up the unsurfaced farm track to a kissing gate and Cadw boards at the enclosure. Cattle graze the surrounding fields. A public footpath also reaches the site from the Brynsiencyn side.
Driving pin: the junction of the farm track and the lay-by on the A4080, 365 m south-south-east of Cadw's marker inside the earthwork. By road: 1.25 miles west of Brynsiencyn, off the A4080. By rail: Llanfairpwll, 9.7 km. National Cycle Network route 8 passes 2.9 km away.
Castell Bryngwyn Prehistoric Enclosure, Clostir Cynhanesyddol Castell Bryngwyn, is a near-circular earthwork in farmland west of Brynsiencyn whose single massive grassed bank still stands up to 2.6 metres high around an interior some 55 metres across. It began in the late Neolithic or early Bronze Age as a circular enclosure with a bank and outer ditch, and was long thought to be a ceremonial henge; excavations in 1959 and 1960 found pottery, post holes and flint and bronze tools that show it was lived in, and it was refortified more than once, the rampart widened with stone and then timber, before its last occupation in Roman times in the first century AD. Early observers even took it for a Roman amphitheatre. Visitors find a peaceful grass ring with cattle for company and advise reading up first. Park in the small lay-by on the A4080 without blocking the farm road, then walk about 400 metres up the track to the gate.
