Open all year during reasonable daylight hours and viewed externally from the streets; for safety reasons access onto the town walls is not currently possible, with no date given. No admission charge. The Porth Mawr Tower key is collected between 10am and 3pm from Siop Lwsi at 4 Pepper Lane, the shop next to the tower, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 31 March until the end of October 2026. Cadw's Health and Safety block says the site is currently closed to visitors, which reads as the wall walk; check Cadw's page for the 2027 key season and any reopening of the walls.
Terrain level 1, accessible: pavements, the quay and the promenade around the circuit; do not climb the walls, where stones may be dislodged and there are falls from height. No facilities of the walls' own; the town has toilets, shops and cafes. Drones are not permitted.
Dogs: Cadw: 'Dogs welcome' with no lead line; the walls are seen from public streets, the quay and the promenade. The site is not on Cadw's dog-friendly list (the castle is listed for winter only, a different place).
