Open all year during reasonable daylight hours; no admission charge. Cadw may close monuments at short notice in extreme weather.
Terrain level 3, moderate: the access path through the woods has varied underfoot conditions and can be boggy, so wear suitable footwear. Keep to the right-hand side of the monument and use the 40 to 50 modern low steps provided; inside, a mix of modern and historic stone steps leads to an upper wall walk, with handrails to use. No toilets or facilities at the castle; Wepre Park's visitor centre with a cafe and toilets is about 1 km away through the woods. Drones are not permitted.
Dogs: Dogs on short leads are welcome on the ground level of the castle; the steps, tower and wall walk are for assistance dogs only.
