Open 10am to 4pm all year, last admission 30 minutes before closing; closed 24, 25 and 26 December and 1 January. Cadw may close monuments at short notice in extreme weather. A visitor in August 2026 found the audio information buttons out of order.
Terrain level 2, easy: a tarmac path and footbridge lead in from the town side and the grassed wards are level, with a spiral staircase to the top of the great tower. Google reports a wheelchair-accessible entrance and parking. No toilets, cafe or shop at the castle; public toilets are in Flint. Drones are not permitted.
Dogs: Dogs on short leads are welcome on the ground level of the castle; the great tower's stair is for assistance dogs only.
