CoastAnglesey
Cemaes to Llanbadrig is a stretch of the Wales Coast Path on Anglesey's north coast, the most northerly part of Wales, leading east from the fishing village of Cemaes. Along the way are a tidal bell designed by Marcus Vergette, the remains of a lime kiln and hay fields that bloom with wildflowers in summer. Herons, kittiwakes, fulmars and guillemots are about, seals bask on the rocks and porpoises surface offshore. At Porth Padrig stands Ladi Wen, the White Lady, a quartzite sea stack named after a white-clad figure of Celtic myth who warned children against misbehaving. Legend says St Patrick, shipwrecked nearby in 440 AD, built a church on the headland in thanks; its interior was refurbished in 1884 with Islamic-style tiles. Parking and public toilets are at Traeth Mawr in Cemaes, not run by the Trust. Dogs must be on leads on the coast path, with seasonal restrictions on Cemaes beach.
Open coastline, dawn to dusk, on the NT opening calendar.
There is no National Trust car park, cafe or shop. Community council public toilets, including an accessible toilet, are in the main Traeth Mawr car park in Cemaes.
The coast path is not level; NT links to an AccessAble guide for the route.
