Free entry for everyone; no membership card is needed.
Arrive on foot, by bike or by public transport.
Cadw lists no designated parking. Visitors park on the Parc Cybi road where there are no double yellow lines, with little traffic while the surrounding business-park plots stay unbuilt, or walk about ten minutes from the Premier Inn, whose car park is for hotel guests only. Expect to walk a little if you come by car.
Driving pin: Cadw's marker on the tomb beside the road; Cadw's own what3words point 40 m west is probably the field access. Cadw publishes no postcode; Google places the tomb in LL65 2FL. By road: 1.5 miles south-south-east of Holyhead on the Parc Cybi road off the A5153. By rail: Holyhead, 2.4 km. National Cycle Network route 5 passes 1.9 km away.
Trefignath Chambered Tomb, Beddrod Siambr Trefignath, is a trio of Neolithic tombs in one long cairn beside the Parc Cybi road at Holyhead. Despite standing side by side, the three chambers were raised in distinctly different periods from about 3750 BC, and the site stayed in use for as many as 1,500 years. The earliest chamber at the western end is a simple box-like structure in a cairn of boulders; the middle chamber has collapsed with only a few stones standing; and the third and most recent tomb at the eastern end remains almost intact with its capstones and two impressive portal stones more than two metres high at its entrance. Reviewers find it worth 10 to 15 minutes, easy to miss right off the road; there is no car park, so park considerately on the road away from the double yellow lines. Dogs on short leads are welcome.
Open all year during reasonable daylight hours; no admission charge. Cadw asks visitors to come in daylight for safety and may close monuments at short notice in extreme weather.
Terrain level 3, moderate: an exposed field site that may be slippery or muddy underfoot, with low ceilings in the chambers, guardrails where needed and possible grazing animals on the neighbouring farmland; do not climb on the stones. No toilets or facilities. The Ty Mawr standing stone, a separate Cadw site, is 0.38 miles away. Drones are not permitted.
Dogs: Dogs on short leads are welcome at the tomb, an open field site at ground level.
