Finch Foundry is the last working water-powered forge in England, located in the village of Sticklepath on the northern edge of Dartmoor. Built in 1814, the foundry used three waterwheels to power massive trip hammers and a grinding stone to produce agricultural hand tools — sickles, scythes, and shovels — for farms across the South West. The original machinery still operates during demonstrations, offering a vivid glimpse of the industrial heritage that once powered rural England.
