Lydford Gorge

Lydford Gorge is the deepest river gorge in the South West, carved out by the River Lyd over thousands of years on the edge of Dartmoor. The dramatic one-and-a-half-mile trail follows the river through ancient oak woodland past the thundering 30-metre White Lady Waterfall and the swirling whirlpools of the Devil's Cauldron. The gorge is a haven for wildlife including dippers, grey wagtails and over 40 species of lichen.
