Kenilworth Castle and Elizabethan Garden

Last admission is 30 minutes before closing. Limited castle parking is free for EH members displaying a valid car sticker; non-members must pay. The current non-member tariff was not confirmed, so no amount is estimated.

Town-centre car parks have separate charges. Do not assume the Queen and Castle pub car park or council parking is included in EH membership.

Leicester's Gatehouse has a lift to all floors. The garden has compacted gravel and grass paths; many upper castle rooms need spiral stairs. Level access is available in the kitchen and Great Hall areas.

English Heritage membership covers standard admission. National Trust membership alone does not cover entry. Special events may be charged separately.

Dogs at the location: Allowed with restrictions. Dogs on leads are allowed. The facilities page does not separately confirm access to the gatehouse interiors or indoor cafe; ask staff before entering. Assistance dogs are welcome.

Dog walks in the grounds: Allowed with restrictions. Dogs on leads may explore the ticketed castle grounds and Elizabethan Garden with normal admission or eligible membership. Keep dogs away from the aviary and other wildlife.

Dog walks in the surrounding area: Allowed with restrictions. Abbey Fields offers public walks beside the brook and lake, with pedestrian entrances from Bridge Street, High Street and Abbey Hill. The council permits dogs under control and requires fouling to be cleared. This is separate from ticketed castle admission; council parking has its own charges. Some paths are affected by pool redevelopment, so follow diversions.

Leads: Leads at the castle. In Abbey Fields keep dogs under control, clear up after them and follow local exclusion signs; a blanket off-lead entitlement is Not confirmed.

Seasonal dog restrictions: Not confirmed: no fixed seasonal dog exclusions are given for the castle. Check Abbey Fields works diversions separately.
