Charlecote Park is an imposing Elizabethan house set in a deer park landscaped by Capability Brown on the banks of the River Avon. The house has been home to the Lucy family since 1247, and legend claims the young William Shakespeare was caught poaching deer here. The Victorian interiors are richly decorated with family treasures, and the park still has herds of fallow and red deer.
