Netheravon Dovecote is an early eighteenth-century building created to house hundreds of pigeons, a useful source of meat, eggs and fertiliser. Its tiled pyramidal roof, dormers and small wooden lantern turn a practical farm structure into a carefully composed feature of the surrounding landscape. Inside, most of the original 700 chalk nesting boxes survive, but visitors cannot enter the building or its private field. The visit is therefore an exterior view from nearby Millennium Park. Reviewers repeatedly stress the distance from the dovecote and the importance of realistic expectations before making a special trip. English Heritage recommends parking at Netheravon Church, walking back down the lane and entering the park through its black pedestrian gate. Cross to the southern edge for the view, roughly twenty metres from the building. Grass may be wet or muddy; the village has a small shop and a pub.
Exterior viewing only from nearby park any time during daylight hours. There is no access to the interior.
