Porth y Swnt is the National Trust's interpretation centre in the fishing village of Aberdaron, towards the tip of the Llŷn Peninsula, designed by architect Huw Meredydd Owen to introduce the peninsula's history, culture and wildlife. Visitors start in The Deep, an undersea space with wooden figures carved by Dominic Clare, and climb through The Way to The Light, home to the retired Bardsey Island lighthouse optic, 8ft high and 8ft wide, which was flown across the Sound by helicopter. Children get a scrapbook and a UV torch for finding hidden animals. Dogs on a lead are welcome in the shop and reception area but not in the exhibition. The Trust's Porth Meudwy coastal walk, a moderate 3-mile circuit with steep steps, starts from the car park and follows the Wales Coast Path. Reviewers find the immersive displays better than expected and like having the beach, bakery and pubs close by. One tip from visitors: parking is free to members who scan their card. Otherwise the pay and display machines take coins only, and the Trust recommends downloading the JustPark app beforehand.

Henfaes car park is open to the public every day throughout the year. The visitor centre is open on select days from March to 1 November. Check opening times before you visit.
