Sandscale Haws National Nature Reserve

Sandscale Haws is a National Nature Reserve on the Duddon Estuary, comprising a large dune system rich in wildlife. The reserve supports rare natterjack toads, orchids and over 30 species of butterfly. Boardwalks and paths wind through the dunes, offering views across the estuary to the Lakeland fells and out to the Irish Sea.
