St Catherine's Oratory is a medieval lighthouse known locally as 'the Pepper Pot', perched on St Catherine's Down above the south coast of the Isle of Wight. Built in 1328 as a penance by a local lord, it is the oldest medieval lighthouse in Britain and commands stunning coastal views.
