Temple Church preserves the shell of a medieval Bristol church whose leaning tower and walls survived wartime bombing. Its name recalls the Knights Templar, who first built a round church on the site before a larger rectangular building replaced it. The outline of that earlier church is marked on the ground, helping visitors compare the two plans. The former churchyard is now a public garden, giving the ruins a quiet setting within the city. Exterior viewing any reasonable daylight hours. The interior of the church is open daily from 10am - 4pm, 1 March 2026 to 31 January 2027. There may be times when the church closes at short notice due to adverse weather.
Opening times may change at short notice.
The surrounding garden path is suitable for wheelchairs. Some parts of the ruined church may be restricted.
Church open daily 10:00-16:00 from April to January inclusive; closed in February and March. Follow any signs restricting access within the ruins.
Ordinary admission is free for everyone; membership is not required.
Dogs: Dogs on leads are welcome in the visitor areas.
