Upton House and Gardens

Upton House is a late-17th-century country house remodelled in the 1920s-30s by the 2nd Viscount Bearsted to display his world-class art collection. The house contains masterpieces by El Greco, Canaletto, Stubbs, and Hogarth, alongside Brussels tapestries and Chelsea porcelain. The terraced gardens cascade dramatically down a hidden valley to a mirror pool, with a 1930s bog garden and herbaceous borders.
