Wentworth Castle Gardens

Wentworth Castle Gardens is a 26-hectare designed landscape near Barnsley, created by the Strafford family from the early 18th century as a rival to neighbouring Wentworth Woodhouse. The gardens contain a nationally important collection of rhododendrons and camellias, a Victorian conservatory and the sham castle folly that gives the estate its name. The parkland was designed to impress, with grand vistas, ornamental buildings and one of the finest collections of garden monuments in England.
