Allan Bank is an informal country house above Grasmere that was once home to both William Wordsworth and John Ruskin. Partly damaged by fire in 2011, the house has been left deliberately unrestored to create a relaxed, welcoming space with stunning views over Grasmere lake and vale. Visitors are encouraged to explore freely, play games and enjoy the grounds.
