Carnewas at Bedruthan is the clifftop above Bedruthan Steps on the north Cornwall coast between Newquay and Padstow, where a line of slate sea stacks rises from the sand; legend says the giant Bedruthan used them as stepping stones across the bay. The Trust looks after the cliffs, car park and three-quarters of a mile of the South West Coast Path, with picnic tables beside the shop. The beach has been closed since a 2019 rock fall took out the cliff staircase, so this is a place for views and walking: a short stroll to Mawgan Porth or a longer round trip to Porthcothan.
