Jackfield Tile Museum

Jackfield Tile Museum occupies a former tile works in a riverside Ironbridge Gorge village that once shipped decorative ceramics to every corner of the world. Galleries arranged as a one-way route lead through centuries of the craft, from the great local firms Maw & Co and Craven Dunnill to designs by William Morris and Salvador Dali, with walk-in recreations of tiled spaces including a London Underground platform and a 1940s pub interior. Reviewers describe it as a calm, absorbing hour or more, and anyone who wants to try the craft can book a tile-decorating workshop at the working Craven Dunnill factory next door on selected dates. The museum came into National Trust care with the 2026 Ironbridge transfer; visits are currently weekend-only and pre-booked while the site returns to full opening.
