Lacock Abbey

Lacock Abbey is a medieval nunnery converted into a country house after the dissolution, set in the picturesque village of Lacock. The house is celebrated as the birthplace of photography, where William Henry Fox Talbot created his first photographic negative in 1835. The abbey retains its medieval cloisters, and the museum tells the story of Talbot's pioneering experiments.
