White Ladies Priory preserves the roofless church of a small community of Augustinian canonesses, whose pale habits gave the nunnery its name. The late twelfth-century ruins sit in a rural setting near Boscobel House, and became part of Charles II's escape story after his defeat at Worcester in 1651. He briefly hid here before moving on, disguised as a woodsman with soot on his face. Visitors enjoy the quiet setting but stress how little roadside parking there is.
