Badbury Rings is a spectacular Iron Age hill fort with three concentric rings of massive earthwork ramparts and ditches, thought to date from around 800 BC. The site has legendary associations with King Arthur's Battle of Mount Badon and sits at the junction of two Roman roads. The surrounding grasslands and nearby tree-lined avenue of beech trees form a rich habitat for butterflies, wildflowers, and birdsong.
