Eggardon Hill

Eggardon Hill is a dramatic Iron Age hill fort crowning one of the highest points in west Dorset, with triple ramparts and deep ditches still clearly defined. The exposed hilltop offers extraordinary panoramic views stretching from the Dorset coastline to the hills of Devon and Somerset. The chalk grassland is alive with wildflowers including orchids, and the site is frequented by skylarks, buzzards, and peregrine falcons.
