George Inn

The George Inn in Southwark is London's last surviving galleried coaching inn, dating from the 17th century and rebuilt after the Southwark fire of 1676. The timber-framed inn with its open galleries overlooks a cobbled courtyard and was mentioned by Dickens in Little Dorrit. Now a working pub managed by the National Trust, it retains its historic character and atmospheric old bars.
