Wellington Arch stands at Hyde Park Corner opposite Apsley House, crowned by a bronze chariot carrying the Angel of Peace. The monument contains exhibitions about its own history and the Royal Regiment of Artillery, with changing art displays on the upper floors. Its balconies offer an unusual view across the surrounding parks and busy streets, directly beneath the great sculpture. The Household Cavalry sometimes passes through the arch on its route to and from Horse Guards, although a sighting is not guaranteed. Reviewers especially enjoy the elevated views and suggest combining the visit with nearby Apsley House. Check opening days before travelling, as the interior is not open every day. The lift is currently out of order, leaving a spiral staircase as the route upstairs. There is no visitor car park, and pet dogs cannot enter; nearby Green Park has separate dog-walking rules.
